Reasonable amount of pictures a client can expect to receive?

I'm doing a birthday shoot in the next few days and for 3 hours, what is a good amount of pictures the client should expect to receive? They are not expecting anything to be printed. They just want the final, processed images on a CD/DVD.

I'm trying to determine what is reasonable. I'm not being paid much as well...only a couple hundred dollar but it gives me some exposure.

Frank is right. Move around a lot and several different exposures so you can pick. I think 100-200 is right. Any more than that, and it gets tedious. Of the 100 you send to them, they will only print up around 50. I hope this helps. I always show to a family after a session, those I feel are printable. That way they think I'm brilliant.

Forgot to mention. Is this for an older person? If you can use natural light, that would be best. Fill flash or flash with bounce or diffused. Older people like a lot more PP to get rid of wrinkles and you may even stretch the image to give that thinner look. I know, we do all sorts of things to compensate. If it is a child, then natural light for sure and shoot RAW.

For instance, I can show 100 and say you can only pick 50 for final delivery. I think that is reasonable.

The age group is varied.
