I am for sure going to purchase the Epson 5000. That is not a debate.

My question...

So I fill up a card and upload the card to the Epson. Can I now copy those images from the EPSON to my Passport drive so I will have the images in two places.

Yes you can transfer files via a standard USB port on the Epson to and from USB devices. That being said though what you should do is save the money and get the P-3000 and upgrade the hard drive to a 120gb or 160gb. The P-5000 is not worth the extra money.

So the Epson will power my Passport?

I have read some about the P-3000 and hardrive upgrade but I'm not that interested in hacking my hardrive for space I dont really need. I do appreciate the info!

I know you say you're deffintely going to buy the Epson, but have you considered the Vosonic VP8860? (think there called wolverine in America.) Its got a 4.3" screen and comes with or without a harddrive. The version i bought included a 320gb harddrive for £265, at that price I couldnt justify buying the Epson. Plus its slightly smaller and lighter according to the specs. in case your at all interested heres the link: http://www.vosonic.com/product.php?PA=feature (external link)

I have the P-3000 and the Passport Essential (320GB) but I cannot get the P-3000 to recognize the Passport drive. I'm not sure if the P-5000 will have the same issue as the P-3000 but I'm thinking it will.

I have a P-3000 and an Archos 404. The Archos 404 is a media player, but it can also be used like a regular hard disk. I know that when my Archos is in HD mode the Epson can detect it and transfer files to it. So long as the Epson is plugged into the mains my Archos charges.

I have a P-5000, but not the Passport. In theory, you can connect the two directly, but I'm not sure if the P-5000 will power the Passport.

Doesn't the Passport have an optional external power adaptor? Just in case?

I dont have a power adaptor for the passport... might just have to do a trial and see if it works. I just hate the thought of the images being saved in one place.
