I was given the chance to photograph model 'Katie' using the new Bowens 'ring-flash pro'.
I was stunned with my captures (I am a complete newbie to studio work).
Any constructive suggestions on possible improvements would be appreciated.

EOS 350D, Canon 24~105 f4.0 L IS at 58 mm. ISO 100 1/125" at f11.

it looks great, maybe just a light on the back of her to highlight her hair.

Totally agree, great model, lovely flash, well taken shot, just add a hair light... even stick a strobe on the floor at 1/16 or through a gel or something, just to stop us losing her against the background.

Oh, and I now want the flash ring ;)

Thanks for your comments. I agree backlighting had been overlooked. The organiser, Jon Gray, is quite a respected photographer, and I think the exercise was to demonstrate the results using only the Bowen's new ring flsh pro.

I have since put this identical image (no changes whatsoever) in my portfolio gallery and find the result with a darkened BGColor makes the image pop a lot more. Take a look and let me know if I should do some PS work on the image background.

Breathtaking shot, I love the eye contact! I think you should not have cropped out the little strands of her hair on the left, though.

Thanks Cheiri, that's a really good comment. I never though of that. I'll clone away the flying strands.
