I decided to get the Ebay tripod ring. So far the communication with them has been really strange....

First communication for ebay seller:
Hi, I am sorry to inform you that the new version tripod still need 3-4 days to paint the character on it.

May I ask whether you accept that there won't be character on it which is "For Canon EF 70-200 F4L" etc.

If yes, you can get USD1.5 discount. And we will ship it ASAP.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Second Communication from Ebay seller:

Hi, thank you for your kindness. I just sent you a tripod ring with character.

Last communication from seller:

We are sorry that we found the few tripod ring can't fit the lens. If you found that this happens when you recieve it, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will send you a full refund. Sorry for the trouble.

I truly belive that they will make this right but I have no confidence that what I wanted will fit *LOL* I am glad this is not a big ticket item:)

Uh-oh... it wasn't for the Roxsen ring, was it? I ordered one last week for my 70-200 f/4L. No communication from the seller so far...

Hyun.
I have more photography enthusiasm than skills. Keeps me happy this way!

Got one from there 3 weeks ago... fits nicely, except for the mark on the ring and the mark on the camera do not line up if I want the camera to be level :-(

Hey, the Roxsen collar I bought for my 70-200 f/4L is like that, too! Shows that their Quality Control is at least consistent!

My collar didn't even have a line, or characters on it either. Still works though and a whole lot cheaper than the Canon!

Did you get the $1.50 off, for the 'no character'? ;)

How much discount do you get when the poorly made casting fractures and your camera and lens tumble to the ground?

Imagine the 300D owners getting a rebate check in the mail from Canon, for the secondary mirror hinge pin failures!
