Like 4, the guitarist shot near the top had potential too but the bar going across near his head bothers me.

I agree with you on the bar (a projection screen), I may try to crop that one a bit closer to at least eliminate the part of the image above the bar.

wow, what an ugly place, ugly lighting ... not your fault, but ugly.

#2 to me is the clear winner, sharpest, decent action and emotion and tight enough that the ugly surroundings are not a factor

#1, 4 are next best to me, but the background ugliness and clutter is a distraction.

#5 okay, the above mentioned better to me both technically and in interest; #6 looks like the keyboard is sharp but the woman's face blurry

#3 I understand why it's there but the novelty wears off of me after the first look but probably different for others.

Except if I could get some really good action, i.e. not this band, and tight crops, I personally would stay away from a venue like this.

Canon T3I, Canon 15mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm; Sigma 30mm; Canon 580ex II and 430 flash; Interfit Stellar Strobes; Lastolite hi-lite background; more

Thanks, I kind of agree about the venue. I only really go there because of bands like this. Music is more of a factor to me than action...even if that isn't the best thing for my photography. To quote John Frusciante, "Music isn't the Olympics." But yeah, I think my awareness of the bg (while I'm shooting) can stand a little improvement anyhow.

I agree with you on 3 as well, the novelty has worn off for me at this point. In 6, I thought her face was pretty sharp (I always check the image at 100%), but I'll look again when I get home. It's quite possible that the face is on the very front edge of "usable" dof.

Thanks for the c&c!
