Skyport compatibility from different countries

I did a search and the closest I could come to an answer was here:

https://photography-on-the.net …=487523&highlight=skyport

I'm about to get extra receivers from B&H (US).

From the above thread, it seems that there should not be any difference in frequencies, but when I check on my existing set, there is a very clear 'CE' marked on the back of everything.

IIRC, that 'CE' denotes frequencies for Europe and Asia???

There is a statement in the manual which states:

CE This device has been tested and found to comply with the requirements set up in council directive on the approximation of the law of member states relating to EMC Directive 89/336/EEC, Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC and R&TTE Directive 99/5/EC

In the manual for the receiver, the listed range of frequencies are:

Default with all 3 slider switches 'OFF' - Trigger Freq 2456/Mhz and Remote Freq 2448/Mhz

With all 3 slider switched 'ON' - Trigger Freq 22475/Mhz and Remote Freq 2467/Mhz

My question: Can I use Skyport Receivers bought in the US with my Asia bought Skyport set with the 'CE' designation?

Thanks in advance.

Could anyone with an actual American set have a peek at the back of their units, or manual for me please?

Thank you.

Be patient, it's Sunday night/Monday morning depending on where you are in the world, someone will reply eventually.

Ahh...righto. Didn;t think of that.

Was a bit eager because my friend is going shopping at B&H NYC on Monday.

Thanks for the heads-up Tim.

"CE" is on the back of all my electronics, i'm in New Zealand. I'd be suprised if the skyports were different frequencies in different countries, but stranger things have happened.

The Skyports work in the 2.4GHz spectrum, which is a "free" spectrum used for household appliances in most countries worldwide (Bluetooth, computer wireless networks - WiFi, cordless phones, etc). That is why they are the same worldwide, unlike the Pocket Wizards.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Going by that, I take it that the Universal Receivers I'm going to buy from the US will work with my sets bought in Asia.

My Skyport transmitter and both receivers have the "CE" on the label, along with an FCC ID number (Federal Communications Commission), which is a US regulatory agency.

I know for sure that Pocket Wizards have different frequencies between CE (EU+Asia) and FCC (USA) models

Thanks once again guys!

Really appreciate your feedback. ;)

While waiting, I wrote to Elinca, and here's what the Marketing Director replied (for future reference in case this question gets asked again):

"We make only one system, certified worldwide.
Compatibility issues should not exist.
Thanks
