I've had my 20D for three or so years now and would like to step up. I know the sensor size differences, but since the 5D has the the next generation sensor, I would like to hear an unbiased firsthand comparison in overall image quality. All the other bells & whistles are not too important to me. I'm all about image quality at this stage. SuzyView Cream of the Crop  More info | Jun 22, 2008 15:10 | #4 I had the 5D, 20D combo for a year and upgraded to the 40D. The 5D is still the one I reach for and prefer. The colors and IQ from the 5D are amazing for the price, so good for what I do. But, if I had the money to upgrade again, I'd have to wait for the new model to come out. If it's any good, I'll be selling my 40D. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
