Sadly the background wasn't that great and my panning still needs some work. Here are a few from this weekend. All were shot with the 70-200 2.8 IS lens.

They look great to me. Maybe the background isn't ideal, but sometimes you just can't get away from it. But the shots are nice and sharp, and you've got good motion in there.

Sadly the complex was much bigger than I anticipated, thus making it almost impossible to "roam" the track looking for better spots. Perhaps next time, I'll rent the cart so I get get around the track better.

I think you did very well. Mid Ohio is a great track since they allow you to roam the course. Most tracks I've been to have only a few designated spectator areas.
