Smallish event with about 25 bull riders but the purse was fairly big. I talked the event staff into access to the platforms behind the chutes for next months event.

Looks like tough conditions shooting the bull riding! Nice close up on #2 :D Barrel racing ones are great, nice background. Love the lime green, wish more of them would wear bright colours cause they show up sooo nice in pics ;)

Thank you. I must really enjoy those tough conditions. "Let's go shot a rodeo in the dark" that sounds like a great idea.

My poor little flash was smoking hot by the time I quite. I really could only get shots when they were coming out of the chutes nearest me and went my direction. But I've got it set up better for next month. They are going to let me be on the platform behind the chutes with the cowboys. I should be able to do a lot better. This was my first time shooting bull riding.

I've never seen a guy in a barrel racing event before. I'd always assumed it was a woman only event? Is it a women's only event or was there some special thing here in this case?

Barrel racing isn't divided into gender classes for the few events that I have been to. I was talking to one of the pro's for NBHA magazine a few weeks ago and he said that on the east coast it is mostly males that compete. But on the west coast it is mostly female.

The event that he was at had 850 riders. Out of that there were about 20 guys.

I can't bellive they let the gal in #1 out in the arena. That is without official dress.

She was all over. I worried about her a few times. As the saying goes "this wasn't her first rodeo" but she was a little to close a few times. Made the fighters job harder.

That sucks when people make it harder for them to do their job. Around here you would be asked to leave the arena dressed like her.
