Hey.

I'm interested in getting a bludomain site set up, and i was wondering how the client gallery proof is.

Does anyone use it, is it easy to set up, fast?

Thanks!

From what i've read it's not great, you'd be better off with "photographers shopping cart".

I use it - the proof gallery is very easy to set up and maintain, but it doesn't have a shopping cart - I personally like it that way, I like to handle all of my orders. I haven't had anything but compliments from clients either. It puts the file name under the picture so clients can write it down, and order easily. You can check mine out if you want, just go to my site, then click on client proofs, you can use the password "becca" to check it out as clients would see it
Hope that helps!

I really like your site and I'm in the process of moving to BluDomain. The presence of a shopping cart appears to be based on your template selection and/or how much you are willing to pay. I've selected Audrey and it has a shopping cart in both the galleries and client sections.

I'm with you on handling my own orders and can do that with this cart system. I get an email with the order info and I can take care of printing and shipping. It has paypal and/or offline payment.

Music? Can I ask where you got your music?

Their sites are pretty awsome for the price.

Only prob is, i want a $100, but u have to pay an extra $100 if you want to host it somewhere else.

Doesn't make much sense, your giving them less of a hassel by hosting it on your own server.

I haven't heard great stories about their hosting service either.

Dave, that is "Everything" by Michael Buble. Jennifer, did you purchase the license for that music?

Dave, if you want royalty-free music, these are good sites:

Personally I don't like the Blu sites...but that's just because I am sick of seeing them...you know they all look the same...nothing unique about them...but thats just me.

Well they just uploaded their site to my server, they were pretty quick, next day!
now the task of setting it all up.

One thing though, they put it in a folder on my ftp labled with the template name.

So my site now goes to

www.xxxxx.com/marlowe (external link)

is there any way to make it so my site, without the template name goes directly to the site?

Can i just dump the contents of their folder directly into the root folder?

Thanks

Nvm once i go live i think they'll do that.

By the way, of all the horror stories i've heard about blu's customer support, im really surprised.

They were quick to respond to deliver the site and also to respond to my emails.

So far very happy with them.

We've had extremely bad experiences with BluDomain (google bludomain service..you'll see my story 2nd or 3rd). Hopefully they are getting better.

My wife has finally decided upon Portfoliositez.com....purchased a template and had it up and running within a day. For proofing/ordering, we use PicturesPro PhotoCart (http://www.picturespro.com/ (external link)) and are extremely happy.

FWIW, I just bought "george" and am very pleased with their hosting and service.

Great guys thanks.

Now i have to set everything up!

Everything is working fine, but i'm abit worried about the loading times.

www.senphotos.com/audrey (external link)

Can you guys check it out and tell me if it takes ages to load?

Whats the best way to optimise the images for loading fast? I resized them to 1200x800 at 5 quality in photoshop, is there any other way to reduce the size more?

Thanks
