I have the canon S5IS and have gotten the wide angle and Tele lenses and now need to get a flash attachment. What I want to Know is there an inexpensive flash that will work with the camera for occasional use at events or at least that will work until I can afford one of the canon speedlite EX's that are recomended. Also if getting the money for the canon flashes which one would be the best suited for what I might need it for. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to POTN :) Canon 430EX if you can afford it, otherwise a Sunpak 383 or a Vivitar 287 HV (might have that number wrong, maybe a 285) will do the job but it's manual or an old style auto mode that I don't understand.

Be prepared for a really unbalanced feel in your hands. My wife has a S5 and I slapped to 580 on there just for kicks when she first got it. It felt really awkward. I didn't spend a whole lot of time getting used to it so maybe it will feel better once you use it for a while.
