The longer some tracks are out of service the railroad looses MILLIONS of dollars! Not to mention the companies whose goods they are shipping. So they try and fix vital routes very quickly. I used to work for Union Pacific so I know the make big profits on every train they run, or they wouldn't be in business. That's also why I don't work for them now they certainly don't pay enough for what they ask of their employees. HA! Isn't that how it is with almost every business? -Jeremy-

At my new job I make almost as much as I did with the railroad, but work a lot less hours and get to see more of my family. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jde95tln/
