Season's last for the local team. I was going to try my 100-400L on soccer but I saw a baseball game going on. Shot from outside the fence. It was quite hard and now I think even 300mm will not be enough reach for baseball.

Here are some of the shots.

Wow. Really great shots. Colors are beautiful and the bokeh came out really nice. The only fault I sort of noticed was the last shot where the pitcher's arm is kind of blurred. Maybe a slightly faster shutter for next time or some sharpening in that area would do the trick. Otherwise, I think they're absolutely awesome shots.

Nice action,
Although the bokeh is a bit distracting in some of the shots.

Thanks guys. Bookeh is hard thing when you shooting close to f6.3/f7.1.

I have noticed that when shooting close to ground on some days, you get this painted affect in the bg. It happened last week shooting soccer with my 500mm f4 IS. I did notice some folks on FM forum mention that with their 400mmm f2.8 IS.

Colors are outstanding Bobby. My only bit of advice would be to either risk blowing a few highlights and meter the faces more (bumping exposure) or lift some of the face shadows in post. I'd opt for the latter in this case as that f6.3 is going to limit your shutter speed already and I don't think you want to lose any more by shooting brighter. Just my two cents but that's what I'd do.
