Crisp shot. But it would be better if the ball were in the frame. It's hard to tell if he is playing volleyball or trying to keep the seagulls away from his french fries.

I would leave #1 alone. If someone is going to look for Volley Ball, they will know what he's doing. If someone is searching for "Seagulls", they might get the wrong idea ;-)a.

I'm pretty sure I'm over-thinking this a bit. I already changed it to the 2nd picture, I think its cooler now that i look at it.

Thanks all.

I think #2 is better - It shows what exactly it's supposed to be about, whereas the first pic the guy could just be punching the air for some reason or another.
Also the "Brolly" in the background is distracting.

It is a little more then just cheating in the photojournalism world (which is what sports falls under). People have had awards stripped and life-long careers ruined for PS'ing images.

Wow.. didn't know that sports photography was considered photo-journalism. I can see why cheating or PS'ing would looked down upon. I thought it was more like they do in the magazines where none of the people are real, or touched up to the point where they are "perfect" in order to achieve the effect.

In my defense, I don't really mess with the pictures too much. Just some Levels, Shadow and Highlights, and hue saturation around 10% to 15%. But that's only because the XTI body I own has very big problems with underexposing pictures.

Live and learn I guess.

Thanks for the advice.;)
