Well, with all the on location shoots I've been doing, the one thing I dread the most is carrying the lightstand, its just too cumbersome. So I was thinking...

What if I made a bag that holds the vegabond and run the power cable from that unit to the strobe which will have a soft box attached and have my assistant wear the V2 like a backpack and hold the strobe unit.

Good idea? or future Darwin Award winner?

Some one on here made a backpack for their V2 so they could use their ABR800 at parties and clubs and on location shoots.

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

Speedotron users, untie!

I recall seeing the same thing. It might be more practical to have the V2 on the strap or use the carry handle. The strobe with the softbox can be on some sort of boom art or custom device that's comfortable to hold up. When the assistant has to move from location to location they can just pick up the V2 and move with the strobe/softbox combination.

It won't exactly be the lightest most convenient thing but my be another option to having the V2 on your back.

I'm thinking of using it to power a 1200ws strobe... same concept with a little more juice. The sound of the pop of the flash going off is ear piercing :)

Its the model's escort... convenience is not a concern of mine. ;)

Two V2 units, 1 monolight unit with 2 softboxes and on the other hand he will hold a small light stand with a 580 attached to it... however I'm thinking of using an Elinchrom D-Lite 4 instead of the 580.

I don't think I can give him any more load. :D

That's pretty significant. Hope he's been eating his Wheaties. :D
