Dang pretty stuff amigo. "appearl" and "sizing up" do it for me. "celebration" doesn't suck either - but then again - none of them suck. These just anti-suck the most. Keep clicking away, always fun to see.

Great pictures.

Was you the for Graham Napier's little knock against Sussex on Tuesday?

Quick bit of advice to if you don't mind. Will a 70-200 f/4 L be long enough to get some decent pictures from a local village cricket match - couldn't tell you how far the wicket is from the boundary but as it's a local team doubt it will be much more that 50-60 yards.

I for one were glad you did'nt get the face shot on # 6 photo as I would have never seen the name on the back of the jersey, as I share the same name and there are few and far between here where I live...that was too cool when I seen that thanks for sharing.
I'll have to do some googling and read up on this Graham Napier.

Graham Napie set a new batting Twenty20 and world record on Tuesday, not bad for a bowler!

…and there were those that said that ‘pajama cricket’ would never take off. Some great action shots,it must be a pleasure working with a mkIII at iso 2000/2500

Ta Dooley... it has to be said that the high ISO stuff is a Godsend.

Beautiful shots, as usual, Gavin, but I will NEVER understand that sport. I read a writeup on some big cricket match on SI.com the other day, and it was so confusing my head literally exploded!

Thanks prime... my head explodes on a daily basis too... cricket is a very intriguing sport.

Great shots Gavin, perfect timing catching the bails flying ;)

Cheers Welby... with the 20/20 games, it can be like shooting rather large things in a barrel when it comes to the bails flying... so I've got no excuses if I miss 'em.

Very nice Gavo.... which lens do you use for these? My 400 just does not have the reach on my 1D MkII N....

Cheers,
Barry

Thanks Barry. I generally pop the 1.4x extender on the 400mm to get in amongst 'em. Occasionally I'll go with the 2x for stock.

Great shots as always Gavin! Looking at No 2 and the last picture, my Dad always said 'You can't do anything without keeping your eyes on the ball!'. Looks like you proved him right!
