I am so frustrated right now. I just got my spyder 2 express. My husband suggested waiting until I get my DVi cable for my monitor before we calibrate it....and he also suggested we go ahead and calibrate his monitor to check it out. He calibrated his last night. No problem. He has vista.
I am trying to calibrate right now and it keeps saying there are no drivers compatible with the device. I have registestered the product which says if I register they will allow me to get the latest updates and drivers. I have been waiting for a long time for them to email me so I can do it.
I have over 1,000 photos I need to process and want to start (I'm actually dreading it but it has to be done).
Does anyone have the driver I need , if so, can you send it to me or direct me to it?
I am running Windows Vista SP1. I thought my husband was too so I dont know why he didnt have any problems.

NM, I finally got it. I did the calibration but now my monitor looks kind of dark, is this right?

Every monitor is different, but usually yes that is usually the case.

You might want to check that utilities loaded with your graphics card are not affecting your calibration. Just before you open say photoshop, run the calibration routine from the start menu. If there is a color change on your monitor, you need to disable all the stuff that the video card installs and that runs at start. Don't worry, you won't hurt anything.

Ah, thanks. I will check that.

Also MAKE SURE Adobe Gamma isn't running in start/programs/startup If it is; delete it. It will play tug of war with Spyder's calibration.

One other comment - ensure that the monitor's settings are at default prior to using Spyder.

And in response to MaxxuM's comments, I have one monitor for two computers - both calibrated (actually you don't calibrate the monitor, you calibrate the computer) and they don't look at all the same. Likely because of two different video cards.

The calibration applies to the combination of monitor & video card. It's not just the computer or just the monitor.

OK, but in any event, I have one monitor and two computers with LR on both, and the same TIFF or JPEG is rendered different.
