Today, I got to see and hold a 1D MKIII......drool.

I stuck a CF card formatted on a 40D in it but when I uploaded the pix none of the pix taken on the 1DIII made it.

Do I need to download an update to EOS Utility on ZoomBrowser or what? I hope this makes sense..

Were you using a card reader or transferring direct from the camera?

Pick up a card reader then. They're generally faster than direct from camera anyhow, and if you need to run file recovery software or upgrade the camera's firmware they're essential.

The 40D is only going to transfer pics taken with that camera using the direct connection. To get to the MkIII pics, you're going to have to use a card reader.

I agree. I dropped some pictures on a CF card with my card reader to transfer them from one camera to another. I forgot my CF reader so I put the card in my 40D. I tethered the camera via usb and the pictures were not there.

The driver only allows the camera to see the photos in the correct folder. ALSO the images here from my 40D.

So if the 40D can't see pictures that it created, it defiantly cannot see files with a different prefix.
