I just used the greyscale conversion tool in Paintshop Pro 9.0. I then used the dodge and burn tool to dark and lighten up areas. Nothing major other than playing around with those tools and trying to control the highlight and shadows.

Thanks everyone for the comments. That is what I thought as well. I loved the color version for two years, but playing around with black and white, I actually think the B&W one makes a stronger statement to me and also it brings out so much more detail in the image.
