It's better they destroy it then let it slip out and have to deal with customers calling QC asking about why their ebay bought gear is defective.

I dunno, depends what kind of damage it is, could be better than nothing at all......

Kind of like those white good stores where you can get a fridge for half price because it has a tiny scratch or dent in it, it still works, just not crispy new.
