Hello all,

I recently received the S5 iS as a present and I am currently on vacation with it. I have had the Camera for about 2 weeks and it has been preforming well until today. The flip out LCD will work when it is flipped out and in all directions, but when I flip it back in to use it to take pictures with it goes out and the image reverts back to the view finder. i changed the batteries and it worked for about 2 minutes then reverted back to the viewfinder.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? I am on vacation for 3 more weeks, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

LSUcanon

I should also mention that when the LCD is barely open, the lcd is on, but everything is inverted

Rather annoying isn't it? Mine does that also. I haven't sent mine back to canon yet, but I plan on it, as soon as it becomes a HUGE problm that i simply can't stand anymore.

You all realise that the LCD powers down when closed right? Or near to it?

[edit] never mind, you mean with the LCD facing outward. Wasn't a problem with the one I used.

Thanks for the replies.

I called Canon and they told me to send it in. I can still take pictures, so I'l send it after my trip.

I'm glad to see this happened to someone else.

well...not glad, but relieved.

I guess the camera does it all the time and not in spurts, if Canon told you to send it in?
