Okay,

Finally shot my first wedding! The wedding & reception was in Front Royal, VA at the grooms father's house (that he built), so I had excellent background to work with. The reception took place in the boxing Gym that the groom's father has nearly completed, so that background is a little rough along with the lighting. They were running power from the house and didn't want to blow anything.

Main challenge was trying not to blow out that beautiful white dress in 2 PM sun! Whew. You will see some shots that I should have deleted. Although beautifully planned and executed to the last detail, very relaxed and fun filled. I couldn't have asked for a better 1st run. I am going to give a link to the gallery. Warning, over 1100 photos, but I sure would welcome the sage opinion and advice from the pros here. How did I do?

Was this a joke or are they serious??

Edit: Oh snap you live in maryland, not far from me. What part of MD?
And I noticed the guys last name is "Farmer" suits them well I guess.

:)

You have some good shots for what you were working with as far as subjects.
Not bad for your first fun. Hopefully next time you get more wealthy clients.

Some good pics. But I got bored after page 3. Looks like you have thrown in loads of duplicate type images. How many pictures does a bride want to see of being buttoned up. It's your job to cull the images.

That aside, you have some great pictures. Just show great pictures.

Thanks Visual Bride. I get you, I will go through and slim it down. That's the feedback I am looking for.

What I find happens if there are more than one of the same shot, such as 438, 439 and 440 for example, the bride has to narrow it down to which of the duplicates is her favorite. The tendency is to narrow down by picking it apart until you find the one with the least objections. You really want the bride to say "what a great shot" rather than to make her look for what is wrong with each to pick the best of the three. The 12 pics on page 20 for example are mostly of 2 different shots. Again, to choose the one I like best I need to find something wrong with the others to eliminate them. You really really don't want the biride to start looking for something wrong with your work. You want to wow them!

Yes overall I think you have done an excellent job escpecially given the time of day it was that you shot these in, but just like others have said there are way to many of the same shots and its probably better for you to go through them and weed out the better ones and remove the not so good ones so that it will be easier for the bride & groom to choose.
