Number 2 reminds me of the photographer Jill Greenberg, only before she takes the kids candy away and shoots them crying about it. Check it out http://www.manipulator.com/ (external link)

AlienBees. 3 B800s and an ABR800 (ringlight). The white bg shots had 2 lights on the bg, 1 b800 as the main w/ large octabox and abr800 off camera w/ 30" moon unit for fill.

The yellow bg shots were the same except the bg lights were used as rim lights, aimed at the subject, from behind. I also had my 580ex bouncing off of the ceiling for a hairlight.

Ha! That's pretty much what I was going for. The Jill Greenberg look. More like in the shots she's done of Christina Applegate though. I need a light hitting the bg to create the halo though, instead of doing it in post. I didn't do anything else to that image in post either (except some contrast), or I might have been able to exaggerate the effect.

But yea, it's sort of my End Times - Happy Edition :) I did get a couple of him crying though :)

Thanks again EVERYONE for the kind, kind comments!

The client loved them btw. But money talks, so we'll see just how MUCH they loved them ;)

these are absolutely amazing. there are photographers who have been in the game for 10+ years who aren't producing work at this quality. This is the first of many paid gigs coming your way, I just know it.

Good luck!
