was taken on the river walk in new orleans. let me know what you think. very new to this so i will take all the help i can get. thanks

I see the concept you were trying to get. Although, you missed the very object you were trying to silhouette. try catch the whole cannon and compose it near the bottom right corner. It could make for a more interesting image.

And please, invest in a rocket blower and a lens cloth. There are a few dust spots form your lense and/or sensor (dont use the cloth on the sensor).
