How you all managed to post so soon after the event impresses me. We only got home yesterday so mine had to wait till this evening.

I've got a lot in the sun taken during free practise on Sunday morning, but thought that this shot of Dovizioso carefully picking his way through the rain of qualifying shows how bad it was on Saturday.

If you think he looks slow, you should have seen Rossi, studying every kerb stone going through the Esses. Vermeulen and Lorenzo seemed to be trying harder than most at that point.

Awesome shot, I would like to see more imore of these in the wet. Shooting in the wet requires patience and practice on getting the right image.

Richard,

A very nice shot in terrible conditions for you and the riders. I was there on Friday in the sun, but I have to say if you can cope with the wet you get some great images.

Thanks for the praise, I don't deserve it yet, but I think I'm slowly getting there. The dry shots are much more visually exciting, but I though I'd show something different.

What rain gear? I took one of those very large "travel towels", if you know what what I mean? Rather like a super absorbant sponge crossed with a normal towel. I just folded it so that it sat over the lens hood and between my eyebrow and the camera. It kept the wet away for the whole of the free practise and qualifying periods. The beauty of them is how quickly they dry out. Overnight in our hotel room hung over the bath and it was ready to go again.

Heres Lorenzo in the wet. As you can see he's "going for it" far more than Dovizioso was.

Nice work. I can't image riding in the rain though.
