Finally made enough through photography to purchase my 300 2.8 NON IS....I love it:D

Here's my first set of photos with it. I've never shot golf before, but I tried to get a general idea of what I should be going for prior to the round. I'd greatly appreciate some C&C and suggestions for next time. I wasn't sure if I should get motion blur on the club and ball or not, so I tried to get a mix of both.

The last one is the best.... I would still crop out some more of the right hand side.

So were you stalking this one guy ? Where is the beer cart picture?

On the first one, make sure you watch your backgrounds. Usually you don't want objects sprouting out of peoples' heads.

same with #3, I know to look for clean backgrounds, but some times it's just unavoidable, or you either get a clean background, but a bad angle of the person, or a good angle of the person with a busy background. I chose the head on angle even though it gave me a somewhat distracting background. But thanks for that advice:)

Of course. I was just nitpicking, hard to find a lot in this really nice series! I especially like number 4, just pops and stands out to me. Nice work!

Good work!
That last shot is pretty neat with the Tee hanging in the air beneath the golfball!

I always thought a good golf shot was one aiming towards the subject right as he's finished his follow through. As far as trying other shots, not every shot in golf has to be an action shot...whether its reading the green, removing the pin, talking to the caddie...etc.

when i read the thread title - i thought;
"He's swinging a new 300 2.8 at a golf ball now? - Man that's messed up."
I'm quite relieved to see the pictures of a Golf club being used.
