Hi guys,

I've been through the B&H site and cannot find the hotshoe adapter to connect the PW to the canon 580 and 430. Anyone know if they sell them?

Thanks.

flashzebra provides an adapter that has a cable already attached from the hot shoe:

should do the trick :)

FlashZebra is temporarily out of stock of the hotshoe-to-miniphone plug cable so if you really need one in a hurry and are willing to pay a little more, B&H has this that'll also work:

Do a Google search on "Hot Shoe to RA Mini Plug Adapter", and you can get them as soon as you are ready!

You will pay more, but the paramount one is a higher quality cord.

Hmmm... I heard that PW II comes with Sync cable. can we just use that? I have a 430 Ex, and 580EXII, I don't know which cable will help my 430EX. (I assume 580 EX II doesn't need adapter or other cable). Deluxe Double Right Angle Miniphone Plug (1⁄8 inch - 3.5mm) to Pocket Wizard or Elinchrom Skyport Adapter Cable or Deluxe Right Angle Mini Plug (1⁄8 inch - 3.5mm) to Pocket Wizard or Elinchrom Skyport Adapter Cable?

Have you read the posts above? A few already tell you what you need to trigger the 430EX with the PW units.

Get this instead. Flashzebra has them in stock.
http://www.flashzebra.com/hotshoes-shoes/0065.shtml (external link)

Reasons why:

1. Standards supplied cord from PW fits this shoe.
2. Mini-phone to PC plug cord easy to find if one goes bad. If it goes bad on the one previously posted you are kind of stuck without.
3. Sturdy metal foot.
4. Sturdy metal foot with 1/4 X 20 socket that will accept umbrella adapter male posts.
5. Works with any shoe mount flash.

It's all I use with my 580's and my PW's One of the best things FlashZebra sells, at least for me it is.

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

The alternative way to connect the 430EX to a PW is to add the Aux Sync Jack directly to the 430EX so you don't have to always rely on the hot shoe adapter. Redundancy is the key, and this gives an additional way to connect. Do a Google search for "Aux Sync Jack for 430ex"

Thanks all - went with the papamountcords. I still may try adding the jack myself.
