Hey everyone,

I am glad you are enjoying the Puffin images. They are cute and make great subjects.

No cruise ship. We went on a trip with Bold Coast Charters out o Cutler, Maine. We took a skiff to a small boat. A ten mile trip in the small boat towing a skiff to Machias Seal Island and then took the skiff onto the island. There are about four people on the island - two working the lighthouse and two summer researchers. There are four blinds on the island that can uncomfortably accommodate 3 to 4 people.

Puffins, Razorbills and Common Murre breed on the island so the birds are there from approximately mid-May until late July. We're already planning a return visit next year.

And I do love the expression on the face of #1. Looks kinda sad or guilty or something like that. It is fascinating to see emotion appear to exist on a bird's face.

Think the first two are the best. Nice colors on them birds.

I like the close-ups as well. But I also like the one with wings spread. Looks like an olympic diver getting ready to do an inward 3 1/2>

Always nice to see Puffins, infact its one of my dream to capture them in my camera.

Ah yes, another expedition. They are indeed photogenic birds. Can't wait to go back next year.

All fabulous shots - I love the puffin - there size, shape and colour is beautiful and fascinating.

i really like the last one, hiding in the rocks.
it's almost like it's saying "peak-a-boo"!
