I REALLY wanted to like this camera enough to sell my 40D(mainly for weight). But it's IQ is frankly not as good as the 40D,and it's slightly noisier.I'm selling the Xsi.I'll try the next generation as I really want a smaller body.

Your opinion runs counter to the vast majority of professional, methodically-tested reviews published. Most say the XSi is slightly better in IQ, but to a degree that most users would never notice. The main cited advantages of the 40D are FPS, build, and controls (mainly the back dial). Some mention AF performance, but the differences seem to be minor. The XSi's sensor is pretty much universally recognized as being very capable in IQ. :)

+1 to that... For what I have seen on this forum and other reputable sites...

I can't read all 2222 or so threads. Since the response to the XSi is so positive, I assume no one gives a damn that it uses SD cards. I guess I'll keep my XTi so I can still use the 6 CF cards I bought.

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Ha, I got three 8 GB SD cards for $16 each so I'm not complaining!

On that note, the night time train scene:

I am experimenting with different post processing work flows and I'm not happy with the compression of the above, but I like the photo!

I'm the opposite cause all I got are SD cards and when I upgrade to 40D, I'll have to buy memory cards all over again. :(

I know some photographers who do weddings with the XTi! A very capable camera

I took my son to the mall on Sunday to get pictures with Santa...
Guess what camera they were using-
That's right, an xti with the old 18-55 kit lens.
Picture turned out great. They had a very nice lighting setup. That tells me lighting plays a HUGE role in good photographs. Like I and many have said...the biggest "WOW" I've gotten from any purchase so far is my 430 ex mkII flash. Seriously.

haha I don't know if I'll upgrade anytime soon, especially with all these SD cards. I don't really get why Canon made this model SD while all their other models are CF.
I think no one complains about it because it's only a hassle when the camera needs to be upgraded.

SD vs. CF (which my 40D uses) was a non-issue for me. ~$30 @ Amazon got me 3 4GB Class 6 SDHC cards :) That's about 900 RAW shots ;)
