Yea its kinda an awkward way of doing it, and very slow. Only really practical or of real use if you've set up the shots for some specific purpose and what to check the detail in live view.

amairphoto Cream of the Crop More info | Dec 31, 2008 13:00 | #3107 i had to take a pic of blue martini last night, i was hoping to get a shot right at sunset, the sunset is behind the bar so it would have been perfect. However stupid security kicked me off and told me not to take pics........i put the camera and tripod back in my car and went and got a coffee, i was determined to get a better shot so when it got dark i went back, got about 3 shots and another stupid security guard came. I got this one im happy with My Website: http://www.amairphoto.com

I've posted a few non-duck shots here before, but recently discovered that a whole flock of ducks lives just a few minutes' walk from my apartment. I'll be back later to post a duck shot. Hele On wrote in post #6977823 Cool pic Anthony. Why was there an issue with security about taking the picture though? stupid security came up to me and said what is this? i said its a camera, and then he said i have to have a permit to be taking pics, i asked why, and he said i just cant take pics, he said as long as i was in the pic its ok. but if im just taking pics of buildings then thats not allowed. He was even saying about taking my camera, i told him he cant touch my property without a court order. Anyway i left and then went back again an hour and a half later to get the pic at night. I was set up only 5 minutes and another came up to me, saying the same stuff, i had all my settings ready so was able to get the shot in quick enough. it was really annoying My Website: http://www.amairphoto.com

michellem1118 Junior Member 20 posts Joined Dec 2008 Location: Dallas area More info | OK, here's my duck shot. I got really lucky when I got to the part of the river where the ducks usually are, as the whole flock got out of the river and walked up towards me. The duck shots were the first attempt I've made at shooting completely manual. This one was taken as the duck crossed the sidewalk in front of me, and was slightly overexposed (by the histogram reading anyway). I bumped the exposure down a bit in pp, but no other pp was done except cropping. EXIF data: 55-250mm IS lens @ 240mm f/6.3 1/100 sec. shutter speed ISO 100 AI Servo autofocus mode CC welcome - note I was not really going for composure as much as just trying to learn how to deal with exposure, aperture, and shutter speed in full manual mode. ![]() XSi w/18-55mm IS, 55-250mm IS

If he took your equipment you most definitely can bring about legal charges. This all assumes that the pictures are being taken from public property.
