I am thinking you are talking to me but I am not sure, most of them are taken with the Tamron 75-300, and the rest with the kit lens 18-55 is

How do you like the Tamron 75-300? I've been told that it's soft and focuses slowly so I havent given it a chance yet. I'm curious of your opinion.

A fairly cold walk this morning. Due to the strong winds, the ice had formed horizontally on everything - the 'waffle' shaped thing is a very thin wire fence! You had to see it for real to get the true beauty of it all....

All photos taken with my new 24-105L which looks like it might turn out to be the great walkabout lens I was hoping it would be.

My Roommate took this pic with my camera. Is anyone able to fix the hair that is gleaming in the sunlight? I can send the original raw file if needed. I would like to get this pic framed for my wife.

Hi, Jared,

What a great photo of you and the wife. Here is an attempt of mine to take the sunlight off your hair.

Regards,

Joe Tiemann - Reinheim

I may be wrong here (wouldn't be the first time), but I believe he was trying to remove the stray hair strands on his wife's hair. :)

Yeah that is what I wanted. I agree that mine looks a lil funny too...but hers REALLY stands out....I tried to remove with the clone tool which works for where my shirt is but doesn't work to well with where her hair is. Thanks for trying guys and thanks for the compliment on the photo.

Live view contrast AF works much better then fokusing over the view finder, most 450D have the front fokus problem when fokusing with view finder with 18mm, f3,4. Check it out with the focus test chart and you will see :) Canon solved the proplem with the 1000D, i bet it is a construction failure or very bad quality control?

I will send mine back but i have no hope cause there are ppl with 5 new 450D bodys and still the same thing , i should have bought 1000D or Nikon D60:o

Can you link to anything about this? I've read a lot about this camera, on this forum and elsewhere, and this is the first I've heard of it. Going through several pages at dpreview forums, I see no mention of it. This is the thread for this camera here, and this is the first mention I've seen of it.

I have a lot of shots taken at 18mm at various apertures and I've never had a problem.

Post real-world examples if you have them. There are a lot of factors at play here, and I wouldn't be so quick to blame the camera without seeing many other people having the same repeatable issue, and I haven't seen that. If you have, please provide link(s) to the threads.

the "crusties" under Chase's nose made me laugh. they reminded me of my own kids.

btw, awesome fence b/w pic. i especially like the contrast.

and, to the "sunset" pic just before it, i wouldn't change a thing. not everything needs to be messed with. however, if i were going to goof with it, i would make it b/w and try to pop the contrast to see what happens. of course, that may be an epic fail on an already stunning sunset pic.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
