QUOTED IMAGE

I like it. I have PSE7 as well and I'm forever finding new things. Just my opinion, try playing with a few different colors. This would realy look cool if it were a little brighter IMO. Good work!

Hi, superd...

I did not check to see if it was okay to edit your photo of the cylist, and leveled out the horizon. It was correctly pointed out to me that one should not do this sort of thing if the permission to edit box is not checked. I deleted the retouched image and the message. I have the deleted image on my computer. If you would like to view it you can send me an e-mail and I will send it to you. Or, you can simply post a message that it is okay put it here on this thread. A great imagage, and good drama.

oh by all means please share! i'd love feedback. I see what you mean by that image editing OK thing though, i didnt even know what that meant. haha im still pretty new to this forum. But yes please post it!

Just picked up a 450d last weekend at CC. This is my first dive into the DSLR cameras and an intimidating step up from my S3IS. I finally was able to get out today for a few minutes and the camera feels great. I have so much to learn, but this forum makes it seem less scary.

Here is a shot of the river behind our house from this afternoon. Snow is a difficult thing to get isn't it.

Hi, Super,

I am attaching the retouched image of the cyclist. I mentioned to another member of this thread that the idea of a level horizon has been hammered into me. Our thread friend had a good point, in that the sloping horizon gave sense of motion and excitement.
Anyway, a great capture. And, as I pointed out in my original post, when you have a chance to get a shot like you got, the horizon line is not a factor.

Thanks for sharing the photo.

lol about cabs, so the nightclub photos do many people make decent money doing that?
they do it out here in vegas and i have never thought about it but now u got me thinking

most of the time promoters want/hire photographers because they can use the "hot" pictures to get out the word about their club / party / events on their websites

Ok, so it's abstract week for the "Rebel Challenge". Did some 4sec exposures along with some panning with an infinity candle. Been playing all day with these photos in PSE7 and here's a few of my abstract samples. Please let me know what you all think.

I need some advice, I bought an XSI for my wife 3 weeks ago.Shes taken about 600 shots I went to charge her battery and its not a canon, but a generic, OK 600 shots. The next thing I notice is that her picture count is 2059. Hmm, new camera, maybe that is the shots on her SDcard in total. A little research tells me its the shot count of the camera . I Google XSI shutter count, find a program, load it into Eos util and the shutter count is 2221. The camera looks new, the photos she takes of my family are excellent.
It was purchased from a local camera store. Kit lens, also 55-250, sd card, bag and a tripod and uv filters. What would you do?

wow, I honestly have no idea...I'd probably ask the person you bought it from about it. Especially about the non-canon battery! That doesn't quite sound new to me, definitely used or toyed with. Did the place advertise the camera as new?

so what tripod did you get ? I to am looking for a good one.....

Wound up going with a Feisol. Wayyy more than I wanted to spend, but I was obsessed with finding a tripod that suits my height (tall) AND is really compact when it's folded up. The Feisol I found was absolutely perfect; couldn't turn it down. (70" extended and only 17" folded? Yes please.)

Then I just got the ballhead that's recommended for the tripod, to keep myself from overspending on that too. (You could spend $600 easy on a nice head, if you were so inclined.)

In any event, finding the right rig is all about considering your particular needs. Best advice I got is that you've got to find a tripod you're happy to take out the door every time.

Anyway, I can't wait to start slowing down my shutter and ditching the high ISO noise.

That's wild. Was it presented as new? You've got a big complaint right off the bat with the fact that the battery included was off-brand; Canon includes its own LP-E5 in the XSi box.

I'd marshal my facts and get on the phone with these people. Again, ESPECIALLY if the dealer presented it new. If you get grief, call a lawyer--tell him to look up UCC 2-313 (express warranty by affirmation) and 2-715 (you're entitled to the difference between the value of the camera if it had been new and its actual value at the time and place of acceptance). It isn't a problem that you didn't discover the non-conformity immediately; now you just have to get in touch with the camera store without delaying too much.

(Edit: Even if the store just allowed you to believe that the camera was new (without explicitly saying it), you're good.)

Or hey, even better than calling a lawyer, just flash some legalese and tell the camera store owner to look up those provisions ;). (But only if he tries to blow you off!)

(Edit 2: Oh and also, this posting does not constitute legal advice, and should you decide to seek legal recourse in this matter, you should consult an attorney admitted to the bar of your state, blah blah blah.)
