I found it a great zoom for those with tight budgets. Mind you I'd never give up my 100-400L but for the time that I had it, the 55-250 did pretty well. Website: Photography By NC

I own the XSi and use it for my portrait work. I love it at low ISO's, and use a flash to compensate when I need more light. I think it's a great camera. If you'd like to see pics, anything in my sig links were taken with the XSi. I just got the 35 1.4 so all the photos you'll see were taken with the 50 1.8. Miranda

I just don't have a need for a zoom personally (On the long end, at least) - I've used it maybe a handful of times - The moon shot being one of. Karizmatik | Twitter

I've gotten a couple good shots, but I'm longing (and saving my tax refund) for better glass. I was thinking about the 70-200 F/2.4 USM IS L but I'm worried about complaints of "softness" on cropped sensor cameras that people talk about. I'd love any thoughts from fellow SXi owners about a good Zoom lens and show off some of my shots for people to make fun of. Hopefully I'm doing something right And another favorite of mine. One of the first shots I ever took with my SXi, while flying home from Boston to California on x-mas break. Finally, some urban decay. Or should I say half life? This was taken on Treasure Island in San Francisco, During the Cold war they would paint ships with radioactive isotopes, park them next to treasure island and have seamen scrub the ships clean. Portions of the island are fenced off due not only to the isotopes still hanging around, but high concentrations of Dioxin. (You have to sign an agreement when you move onto the island that you and your dog won't dig in the ground.) Click here for my Flickr photostream, and high resolution images The Fool on the hill

Birds don't wait while you fiddle with your camera though. And another favorite of mine. One of the first shots I ever took with my SXi, while flying home from Boston to California on x-mas break. Click here for my Flickr photostream, and high resolution images Its XSi not SXi, and you want to buy the 70-200 2.8, not 2.4. Other than that very nice shots, and an interesting story with the last one. I havnt heard anything about the softness on the 70-200 but maybe i havnt read enough about it.
