Just playing with something different .. my son had thrown away a very small computer element (he builds computers .. it something to do with cooling) and I thought it might be fun to try my macro lens on it as an abstract .. it is a small square blue metal piece with rows of long teeth. I just took some quick shots -- the photo has a bit of an optical illusion to it (IMO). Anyway, I'm sure not everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was, if anything, unusual.

this looks like a heatsink (a radiator-type component for cooling computer chipsets). nice abstract shot

Thanks, fidiv -- yes, I'm sure that is what it is! For a little cube of metal, it has some really interesting qualities from different angles -- I'll have to play with it some more this weekend and see what I can come up with. I'm still getting the feel of my 100mm f/2.8, so I'm sure I can do better with practice! Thanks again....Carla

Well since I haven't gotten any replies on my thread, I guess I'll try these here.

Here are some pics I took for my buddies business. Used a Circular Polarizer, tripod, and a remote. I'm very happy with them for a first time and he loves them! C&C is appreciated and what not. Enjoy. I put some pics of his finished products so you realize what he's doing.
