does the extreme 3 and the regular speed ones that much different? whats the main advanages or a faster card?

I'd say get the best you can afford. In-camera, the speed will vary with the camera model, but newer cameras can process faster cards, and speed can also make a big difference when downloading to your computer.

I have a microSD card which is 8gb total. Would that effect on how fast my pictures are taken? I have the Rebel XSI camera. What books would u recommend me getting to learn about what kinda settings for differnet kinds of photographs.

I have an 8GB and a 4GB... However, I will be picking up another 8GB tomorrow before I fly to Ireland. Being in Ireland for three days, shooting in RAW, I'm going to need as much space as I can get!

I am considering the rebel xsi (it will be my first dslr). loved reading this thread...very useful!

Loved everyone's pics! Great job!

for both Hyun & Helena - what lens & setting were you using for the pics you recently posted? just curious if those pics were taken with the lens that comes with the camera or if i have to start researching additional lenses also :D

thanks!

I'm trying to get the "educational discount" for CS3 at the moment. Have you thought about switching to RAW? Sandisk is running a great rebate on a number of their cards, including the 4GB and 8GB Extreme III's. There's a link to them earlier in this thread.
