Thanks for the comments chaps! I've been lucky enough to spend the last two weeks Caving, Climbing and Canyoning in Slovenia. What an absolutely gobsmacking place. More piccies to follow.

This place really was like a scene straight from the Fellowship of the Rings. Mines of Moria inspiration anyone?

Hey Trixster awesome shots. I especially love the last two.
I have been trying to get some sunset pics and it is not as easy as one would think....or at least for this newbie anyways. I just got a 55-250 IS Canon and so far I just love it. I know I will be someday wanting a lens that will zoom in closer but for now it will have to do.
What lens did you use for those last two pics and can you share your settings used for them.
Keep those pictures coming, your quite the photographer in my books. Nice work!!
bw!

Thanks for the nice words! I've only had the camera since December and this is my first slr so it's still very much a learning process.

The second to last one was taken at 28mm, f4.5 and 1/13s exposure. Luckily, I've got a 17-55 which, thanks to the Image Stabiliser, makes handheld shots like this a doddle. I always shoot in RAW and use the latest ACR drivers for Photoshop (5.3 I think) so I can apply a Camera Landscape tone to the shots.

The last photo was shot has similar exposure settings. I always tend to shoot either 1/3 or 2/3 underexposed with this camera as the default exposures under AP seem slightly overexposed.

All the images are on flickr and you're welcome to have a look at the properties of any photo to see what the settings are.

My Sunset attempt. Not to good but I know with some practice I will eventually get it right. I just got my 55-250 and so while on vacation I tried to get a few sunsets.
Sooo feel free to give some C&C. I have done nothing to these images, only sized them down.

Awe thanks Samina. I'm trying but wow sunsets seem very tricky. Besides the point that I'm just new to photography and this is my first DSLR to. I am like a lot of us here, addicted to clicking LOL!! I hope to get as good as most people on here. Some pretty amazing photographers!
At first I was super shy about posting my mediocre attempts but then I figure why not...no better way than to post and learn from what C & C and getting tips from people with more experience under their belts can only benefit my learning curve. :)
