Congratulations on your new Nifty Fifty! I bought one a few years ago and it has been a gem for me. And, it is so easy to carry it as a spare lens, just pop it in a pocket (even a shirt pocket). Have fun with it and get some pictures up...Joe Tiemann (hmmmm, tman2)

Yeai! I got mine only last night. Enjoying the new features, esp. spot metering, the Live View and the ISO button. The feel is better too. Excited to using it.

I want to join the XSi crew but am holding off on buying it for a bit because I am completely stingy!

Right now the best deal I've found is a refurbished kit from Adorama for $484 after Bing Cashback.

Ideally I'd prefer to get just the body and a 50mm f/1.8 but I'm not guessing this is possible for a comparable price? It's hard to find body-only refurbs of the lower-end models at a good price.

Should I wait for Black Friday maybe? Any buying advice would be much appreciated.
