I got my Canon 40D a week ago. I spent the first week reading the manual, adjusting all of the settings the way wanted them, created my custom settings, and got an overall feel for the new body. My prior camera body was a Canon XTi that I used for a year.

Are you guys ready for this??? I LOVE THE 40D!!! I shot 1200 shots at a bicycle criterium race. The autofocus speed is fast and accurate. My keep rate is phenomenal!!! I tested the frame burst and it is fast and pretty impressive!!! I prefer to pick and choose my shots though.

It's almost like this new body has given my lenses a boost in performance. My new favorite lens is my Sigma 24-60 f/2.8, which is one that I never used on my previous body.

With all of the recent bad reviews and complaints about the 40D, I just wanted to share my positive experience. Now to just find the perfect mid-range zoom lens...does it ever end???

What's different about this 40D thread? Another satisfied customer. Seems pretty common amongst 40D users. Enjoy your new camera. :)

Well, lately there's been a storm of negative threads. I just wanted to start a new thread with a positive experience.

I love my Canon 40d.

Most of you in this post have migrated from one Canon body to the 40d.

In my case I have migrated from Minolta to Canon adn this is my first Canon SLR_D.

Having said that I miss the wireless flash features of Minolta!!!

Cheers

Ramesh

I never had a moment of not loving my 40D - I bought it last September, and loved it right until I traded it in for a 1DM2 - but it really is a superb camera. My only gripe with it was that Canon swapped the ISO button from the 10D/20D (and I assume 30D) position, which made it more awkward to change ISO without taking your eye away from the viewfinder.

What? You took the time to learn how to use your camera? This is what is different from the other threads that your refer to! :D

Congratulations. Welcome to the Happy 40D Users Club!
