I am on vacation in New York and stopped by to pick up a Lowepro Stealth Reporter 550 AW at B&H. I think I am happy with the bag (although I seem to need a backpack AND a side bag, both of which will carry all my gear and my macbook pro since one is good sometimes, the other another time), except for the immensity of it. There is no way I can travel around a third world country, or L.A. for that matter, with the monstrosity and not knock everything over in my path.
Regardless, I am wondering if anyone knows the proper way to use the stabilizing strap included with the bag. Does this strap help out alot with balancing the load?
Also, anybody that owns this bag, are you happy with it? I am second shooting weddings at the moment, but also doing a lot of traveling. For the weddings, it is great that I will be able to take the bag with all my gear, and my laptop and a thousand accesories (in the numerous pockets) all together. I shoot with lens cases and such on a belt during weddings, so all the bag will be doing is transporting my stuff around.
As for traveling, I sold my 85 1.8 which has always served as my travel telephoto, and now own a 70-200 2.8 IS which does not travel anywhere very well. I have also supplemented my 30 1.4 with a 17-40, and now none of my stuff easily fits into my Domke f-5 anymore...
Thanks for listening to me complain!
John
