Hi everyone, sorry for being late with this thread but had a lot of work to do.
Anyway here's a couple of pics from Fri afternoon at merevale. Tried a few settings that jim suggested. 40d and 70-200 2.8. I think shutter speed was at 1/250th, partial metering, shot in raw/jpeg. Any comments welcome please.

Thanks.

Phil

Looks like the ISO setting is out,Phil, and they are soft and oversaturated.
Did you shoot in jpeg and raw. or both .

Hi pons, I seem to be struggling at the moment with the 40d as it seems most of the pics r soft. Not to sure what the iso setting was set on. I had the camera set up to shoot jpeg/raw setting.

Thanks

Phil.

Looking at the Exif, the ISO was 400 - Tv around 1/160 and Av around f13.

Apart from the colour, which with RAW you can alter - and I also see you had a manual WB set, they do look soft - are you using AIServo? Panning technique doesn't look to be too bad - but I wonder if the focus is just off a bit - hence I wonder if you used single shot.

Did you shoot any at a higher shutter speed?

I did some panning on the Saturday at Mallory park - this was similar focal length - ISO400, 1/125, f7.1 but does seem sharper?

Hi mark,
Thanks for the comment, I always use multi shot taking about 3 shots. I did use a higher shutter speed at 320th but they looked so static.

Cheers.
