The Tyneside Stages Rally made a welcome return to the rallying calendar after last years event was cancelled, the event is held on the roads that criss cross the military firing ranges on the Northumberland Moors. As it was the middle of June we had typical Summer weather, gale force winds and horizontal rain. Unfortunately all the photos are from the same location as I got stranded there in the morning and was unable to get out until the last stage had finished.

Onto the photos

1.
Bob the log and Ron Roughead, well deserved winners of the event

2.
Local lad Michael Glendinning pre event favourite but forced to retire with gearbox problems

5.
John Hardy

7.
And finally David Conley in his immaculate Hillman Avenger

All comments welcome, all shot with a Canon 1D MKIII and either a 70.200 f2.8 or 300 f2.8

Cheers
Ian

Nice shots Ian in what looks like not ideal conditions. The last shot of the Avenger is my favourite

Those are excellent photos - sometimes being stuck at one spot all day is not such a bad thing! I have to agree with the others, the Avenger shot is my favourite. It looks like it's racing rather than 'floating in the air' as some jump photos can appear.

Nice set Ian, another vote for the Avenger. The spray/smoke behind the car really adds to the image.

Terrific Ian.. The Avenger shot really rocks and brings back memories as I passed my driving test in one of those (does that coment show my age?).

Were there any prizes for the highest jump?
