Which filter do you use on your lens? UV, Haze or Both?

Just wondering, I usually use a UV filter just as a protection device for my lenses, so they're on there 99% of them time, unless I'm shooting something inside.

Now I have been experimenting with stacking cir-pol/IR filters recently and I really liked the outcome, does anyone else stack filters on a normal basis? UV and Haze perhaps?

After spending the money on expensive L glass, the last thing I'm going to do is slap a filter in front of it. I do use the lens hoods. But in my 30+ years of photography, I have NEVER damaged the front element of my lens.

I keep UV filters on most of my glass basically for protection from dirt and water but never stack. IMO it's an "easy clean" option if they happen to get dirty or fingerprinted I can just remove them and keep on shooting. I don't feel there's any significant IQ degradation in using them, but that's my opinion.

I don't bother taking off my UV filter, and I've never noticed a difference in IQ.

Now I did buy a cheap polarizer and my 75-300mm couldn't find focus with it on.
