Trying to get out of a funk - Lakescape

I need a kickstart!!!!

Been in a funk since last year and having a hell of a time getting out of it...

I have thoughts about what's "wrong" with this image, but I'd like to hear some strong critique if possible....

The Inn at Newfound Lake, Bristol, NH:

Tom, the sky center is so blown and hot...maybe getting rid of it, but cropping as to be able to see the rays coming down?

I do love the silohuette of the boat....I am a sucker for these shots

Thanks Gail....that was one of the things that bothered me about the image.....

I _may_ have another image of the same scene with the sun metered properly....I kind of like the clouds.....but I also like your treatment, too...

Anyone else?

With the original photo.the picture is also cut in half with the horizon...not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make a difference in where the eyes lay?
