First, I was sitting on the sofa giving my daughter her bottle when I had a pain... I mean an idea. My living room has a section that has a raised ceiling with 3 flood lights..never got the idea of that. If I were to throw up a backdrop and reaim the lights would that make for decent throw together portrait lighting?

Question 2, Is there an inexpensive optical slave flash that can fire when it detects my 430ex firing?
