I am pleasantly surprised at the DOF that I got with this shot. At 150mm ... C&C welcome. I am still not catching truly sharp images with my XTi.

It was a RAW file - cropped. PP in LR first, than photoshop, but the PS PP was only to repair a leaf that was eaten half way through.

If you do end up shooting JPG I would highly recommend you shoot with a custom Picture Style that has the Sharpening turned off, and sharpen them yourself in Photoshop. To me, this image is plenty sharp. I'm detecting halo's around the flowers that are most likely introduced due to JPG compression so be sure to do your sharpening before you convert to JPG. Yeah I knew that, but after I applied a unsharp filter it didn't look any better, so I left it off. Gear List * www.tranquilphotos.com

If you haven't sharpened at all, then the halo is caused by the JPG artifacting. It becomes much more pronounced if you actually sharpen the image now. That's why I would do my sharpening before you export to JPG. Once you export, then any sharpening you apply is also sharpening the artifacting. my website: Light & Shadow

Very nice to know. I have felt the same way in regard to my XTi not getting the sharpness that I hope for on every shot. But, I have also realized that alot of the sharpness on any pic has come from PP.
