Decided to take my friend and fellow forum member, adam* along to the Thames Barrier for a stunningly clear sunset over the Thames, and nice twilight with the O2 dome and Canary Wharf in the background.

I've been there before during the day time, but didn't look too appealing, but looks much better in the right light.

Would have loved to shoot from sea level, with the rocks at low tide in foreground, but there's no way down there. Also there was a security presence, and strongly told not to shoot the buildings behind us, or we'd be asked to leave, but otherwise they didn't mind, as long as we weren't professionals ;)

Sure we don't look suspicious

#1, #3 and #5 for me. oh, maybe #6 too :) All great shots.

I always like the long exposure effect on the water. I'll hopefully get down to the barrier sometime soon.

Great shots. Love the last one especially.

A couple of quick questions: Do you recall what road you were on? I don't know that bit of London too well and would like to get a nice view of the barrier some time.

Also, what was behind you that the rent-a-thugs didn't want you photographing? I would have photographed it just to piss them off (I assume you were on public property or property accessible to the public, in which case they cannot stop you photographing anything you want to).

I'm not too keen on #1 and #2 as they're too dark for me, but the others are great, especially #5.
