#1, #3 and #5 for me. oh, maybe #6 too :) All great shots.

I always like the long exposure effect on the water. I'll hopefully get down to the barrier sometime soon.

Thanks mate

Great Shots Wazza,,,,,,, WE really need to go out together, So I can suck all your talent out, Then I would be able to take a decent land scape :)

Yah maybe I should head down your way soon.
Closer to autumn/winter would be nice for crisp morning shots near Hastings or another pier like Brighton. I'm sure Matt (p33ve) would come along too. Plus I'd stay at my other house - haven't been there since January though, as simple too busy with work and finally have a social life ;)

cracker shots as always Warren, esp #5...

Cheers Duncan, hope the family is all well

Awesome work Warren, loving #5 ..

Thanks Matt

Great shots. Love the last one especially.

A couple of quick questions: Do you recall what road you were on? I don't know that bit of London too well and would like to get a nice view of the barrier some time.

Also, what was behind you that the rent-a-thugs didn't want you photographing? I would have photographed it just to piss them off (I assume you were on public property or property accessible to the public, in which case they cannot stop you photographing anything you want to).

I parked on Mirfield St, and there was no one else around that late in the evening. Can't drive into the complex as it's all locked up

Pretty much shooting near the grass in the middle of this map:

I guess it could be seen as a high security target.. But it's not like an actual dam, but rather a preventitive measure!

Ah forum buddys int it sweet !! wicked shots, were any filters used ?

Hehe, yeah I was using Grad ND filters - Cokin P series, my own ND8, plus Adam's ND4 and ND2 at times. Numbers 3 and 4 I think had all 3 stacked

I like the warmth in #4

Thanks, glad you like it

curiousgeorge wrote in post #5802261 (external link)
I'm not too keen on #1 and #2 as they're too dark for me, but the others are great, especially #5.

Thanks George, I also shot the first couple at different exposures and different angles to keep myself and everyone happy. These were the darker ones of the series, but showed the sun detail. Others had more object detail, but the sun was just a blown out orb.

crisp morning shots near Hastings

Guys I'm in Hastings, and I actually don't photograph it a lot - I guess familiarity breeds contempt as they say. Maybe I should take this as a hint to photograph it more. Let me know if you are coming down this way soon and are interested in meeting up.

Thanks - I'll go down there some time. I see what you mean now about the buildings behind you - in your first post I didn't realise you meant they were buildings associated with the barrier, I thought you meant they were separate buildings and separate security guards. The lengths to which a security guards imagination can stretch is genuinely beyond me sometimes - these guys must watch too many action films.

Thanks for the reply.

Very very nice. Certainly has inspired me - we won't have a pier here for much longer by the looks of things - I'll definitely be photographing it soon.

I don't normally comment on photos but, as I'm a London boy, they are top drawer. I actually remember receiving the letter from some London council that explained what would flood, who would be affected and why they were building the barrage.

Yeah you're slow at getting stuff together - they didn't exactly need editing. And I'm meant to be doing weddings with you? :p

In our meet Wazza. You said that if you had to only pick one lens. To keep on your body. You would choose the 17-40mm F4L.

I can see why :p

Lovely photographs. Tonal range is amazing!
