Hey.

Well im looking at moving into a new house and the place i looked at has a nice garage that i want to convert into a studio.

Only problem is that the roof is pretty low, I'm 6.1, and if i raised my hands straight above the roof was just abit out of reach, so im guessing its about 7.5'.

would this be enough to have a studio to shoot kids only?, will i be able to get lights high enough?

Thanks

Kids aren't usually 6'1. Lights don't need to be 8' high for them. You'd usually be hunkered down to their height when shooting.

May be irrelevant after the other answers, but are you sure about the height? I'm 6'0" and when I raise my hands, without stretching, the tip of my middle finger is almost exactly 2" from my 8' ceiling.

Uh, yea, you should be fine. I'm shooting in a space w/ ceilings about the same height. It's not an issue with munchkins. I still haven't really tried a full body adult yet. I know people say it's not possible/difficult, but I've yet to actually experience it.

Kids should be fine in that area. Just make sure the room is big enough length and width wise to work in...
