One more question. Shoot .jpg or .raw...?
JPG vs. RAW - you will hear arguments for both. It really depends on what your needs are (RAW conversion does take longer than a JPG straight from the camera) and your storage as well (RAW files will require more storage - larger files). I personally have shot nothing but RAW for 2+ years now, and there are a few reasons why. It may just e me, but I think the color is better from a RAW file than a JPG because it is not compressed. I also like the fact that I can open a RAW file over and over and not lose anything (every time you open and save a JPG file it loses a little something due to compression). Also, for me I have been able to go back to older RAW files and produce better images from them after learning more about how to work with RAW files, as well as the improvements over time in software to process RAW files with. Again, it is personal preference - the bottom line is to get the exposure and composition right in camera so you do not have to manipulate the hell out of the file in post processing.
