Her hands are shaking so much she's shaken the Nikon logo off the camera!
Just kidding. I caught her just after she'd taken a shot.

Depending on where you are standing in relation to the light, flipping the hood around may not be necessary. Canons to the left, Canons to the right,

Depending on where you are standing in relation to the light, flipping the hood around may not be necessary. Now, I've only done that a few times -- shot with a reversed hood-- and that was to get a quick shot of something that popped up unexpectedly. If I have time, I always shoot with the hood on correctly, simply because I will keep checking all around me for an imaging possibility and may have to twist toward the light to get a shot. So, while I don't recommend it, if someone has the light behind them and they aren't planning on looking for candids behind them, then they can do as they wish, especially with auto-focus. Another big reason for using the hood is protection of the front lens. http://www.modelmayhem.com/1017634

Good point and maybe some noob will save a lens because they read this, but I don't think it's fair to criticize a person we know nothing about. Kaylene

I just pointed out a valid reason for using a hood, although I have to admit that I don't use (nor have) a hood for my 10-22. http://www.modelmayhem.com/1017634

It was very hard for me to start photography as it seems that people have personal criticism about everything, silly or not, my problem, or not. That's all. Kaylene
